Little Snail Revisited

Before the next cafe series entry, I actually went to various other places worth mentioning, so let's start with Little Snail. Even though we've been there before a couple of times, this was one of the online voucher thing, where we managed to score a bit of discount for their dinner 3 course.

So my brother requested (and I owed him a dinner anyway) for it since he really liked the escargot.

None other than chilli cheese honey bread. Saw this as a side on the menu and immediately requested it, even though it's not covered by the voucher. I don't mind paying extra for this and let me tell you it is so good, I wish I could go back there and order it again right now.

Bouillabaisse de Marseille
Traditional French seafood soup of mussels, fish fillets and prawns, cooked in tomato and seafood broth, served with garlic baguette. Only available during dinner~

Escargot de Bourgogne
Dozen snails marinated in herb-infused court-bouillon, oven baked in garlic butter. Yep, my brother came just for this one.

Magret de Canard:
Crispy skin duck breast fillet with wok tossed spinach served with cassis and raspberry sauce. Also only served during dinner. Have only had lunch at Little Snail previously, so I made sure to order those that are not on the lunch menu. Some things are repeated, but this duck dish isn't, and I loved this one, even though I'm not a huge fan of spinach... they leave a weird aftertaste.

Côte de Veau
Veal Tenderloin with champignon and chardonnay beurre blanc, served with potato croquette and seasonal green. I think this is the veal? I'm not entirely sure anymore. I had a bit of this and I quite liked it. Last time I had their kangaroo, which was really good. Not for people who dislike rare meat for sure, but I don't mind my steak being undercooked... prefer it that way too.

Banana Liqueur Crepe
filled with mascarpone and strawberry compote. Yup, this is only on the dinner menu and at this point of meal, I was so full I don't even think I finished this, but I like how it resembles mango pancake from yum cha... the crepe was blemish- free... I used to have a recipe that made crepe like the mango pancake one, but somehow lost it =(

Warm Sticky Date Pudding
With butterscotch and vanilla ice cream. Unfortunately, I didn't get to try my brother's sticky date pudding because it looked so dense and rich... but presentation is lovely as usual. Little Snail really presents their dishes very prettily.

Must say, highlight was their duck... the golden rule of not letting duck or pork belly dishes go unordered in a  restaurant is really important if you don't want to miss out :D I never paid any attention to their chilli cheese honey bread too, until after Cafe Jolly. One really does learn lots from eating in different places. I can't remember the exact cost of the voucher, but it was quite a good deal, and like everything else in Little Snail, their service was professional, even to voucher holders.
